Role Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Band 7 Midwife to join our expanding North Central London Perinatal Pelvic Health Service (PPHS). The role involves delivering specialist care to women and birthing people across community locations and contributing to an evidence‑based service that improves pelvic health outcomes during pregnancy and post‑natally.
Responsibilities
* Work as an autonomous practitioner alongside physiotherapists to provide holistic assessment, early intervention, and person‑centred support for pelvic floor dysfunction.
* Lead clinics, offer specialist advice, and support care pathways within the NCL Local Maternity Neonatal Service (LMNS) and cross‑community PPHS clinics.
* Strengthen early identification of symptoms, promote preventative strategies, and support recovery through education and targeted interventions.
* Contribute to service development, clinical governance, audit and quality improvement initiatives.
* Support the upskilling of maternity staff through training, mentorship, and dissemination of current best practice in perinatal pelvic health.
* Travel to other NCL LMNS as required for audit and training.
* Embed evidence‑based practice in antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care to prevent and mitigate pelvic health issues.
* Improve identification rates of pelvic health issues antenatally and postnatally and ensure timely access to NICE‑recommended treatment.
* Develop, pilot, implement and audit new screening tools to identify women at higher risk of pelvic floor dysfunction and oversee implementation and training programmes for OASI care bundles.
Qualifications
* Band 7 Midwife with relevant experience.
* Passion for pelvic health and commitment to collaborative working.
* Drive to improve experiences and outcomes for women and birthing people.
