We are looking for a Senior Commercial Lead to join our EDF Heat Pumps Team, at our Clacton on Sea Office.
Your role will be central to helping EDF Heat Pumps achieve its strategic growth targets in a profitable manner, working across a wide range of internal and wider EDF group stakeholders to drive continued improvement in commercial performance.
You will have freedom to act with autonomy within your agreed scope of responsibility and make appropriate decisions using your judgment, with emphasis on optimising commercial performance whilst ensuring the business achieves its growth, cost and delivery targets.
You will be a subject matter expert, with advanced knowledge, responsible for:
* Assessing and advising on key commercial considerations such as pricing strategy and tender submissions
* Monitor the business cost stack and ensure opportunities to improve are actions and accordingly updated within the pricing approach
* Manage High level Procurement activities and commercial effectiveness / efficiencies monitoring ROI / savings made.
* Setting out strategic capability, identifying new market opportunities and quantifying how this impacts performance
* Business casing investment or change initiatives to ensure they generate a positive commercial outcome for the business
* Review and understand business performance trends and be able to articulate how these impact commercial performance, making recommendations to the business where appropriate to help improve performance and operational efficiency.
* Analyse customer pipeline data and conversion across the entire customer journey to help provide actionable insights to help drive sales growth in a profitable manner.
* Collaborate with other members of the senior leadership team and central EDF colleagues to align commercial strategies with business objectives.
* Support the Transformation & Reporting team on reporting & data requirement scoping to improve overall quality of management information and business performance reporting.
SKILLSET REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE
* Experience in a commercially focused role (4+ years)
* Educated to degree level or higher in a relevant subject matter field
* A high performing individual with a proven commercial or financial background and a particular focus on value, strategic thinking and delivery of commercial targets.
* Have excellent interpersonal skills, capable of forming new working relationships across of diverse range of stakeholders, potentially at times with competing priorities and objectives.
* Work in a manner that creates a high degree of credibility and trust with stakeholders, effectively integrating as a key part of the team within each business area.
* Strong planning and organisational skills, able to translate business strategies into clear objectives, plans and priorities.
* Highly adaptable and prepared to try new things to find new opportunities and improve existing ways of working across the different business units, with a relentless desire to help improve commercial performance
* Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and interrogation
* Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) beneficial not a requirement
