Summary of job
The postholder will lead on the overall delivery of phase 2 our Addressing the Root Causes
(ARC) project. To work within Equal Vision's growing youth research programme. The
service will seek to engage and support young people age 14-25 across our different research
projects. Our youth participants mainly reside in Toxteth and surrounding areas who
experience disadvantage and/or discrimination. This post involves weekly evening and
infrequent weekend working.
Main responsibilities
In collaboration with the project manager, to coordinate research activities with our
young people, peer researcher and external partners.
Critically reviewing relevant academic literature and staying abreast of policy.
In collaboration with the project manager and peer researcher, develop and implement a
plan for data collection.
Compile and analyse qualitative data and summarise main findings.
Write evidence-based research reports for publication including appropriate literature
reviews.
Contribute to dissemination of research findings through social media, presentations and other means.
Project planning and delivery to agreed plan and milestones.
To lead on the development and coordination of youth engagement forums, including our young leaders' group, research skills group and EDI group.
Communicate effectively and build positive relationships by developing a rapport with
young people to ensure effective working on an individual and group basis.
Support young people in their understanding of risk and in taking action to address key
issues in their lives, whilst challenging risky behaviours.
To establish appropriate risk assessments, guidelines and procedures jointly with the
young people for Equal Vision's activities.
To keep abreast of current developments in the field of Safeguarding Children.
To professionally represent Equal Vision to increase professional and public awareness of our work and of the views and needs of young people (including through social media).
To ensure a high standard of monitoring and evaluation, with the support of the project
manager and to ensure that appropriate monitoring reports are provided as and when
required to funders, other partnerships, senior management etc.
