We are recruiting for a Nurse Specialist – Dermatology who shares our vision to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
Responsibilities
* Run nurse‑led clinics and provide patients with evidence‑based care, both in person and via the clinical advice line.
* Assess, develop and implement patient care plans, undertaking specialist nursing procedures.
* Provide specialist advice and support to patients, liaising with other staff members and allied health professionals.
* Deliver specialist education on new treatments and discuss complex cases with the multidisciplinary team.
* Undertake research and lead clinical audits in this specialist area.
* Act as an autonomous practitioner carrying out assessments, planning, implementing and evaluating care.
* As a qualified non‑medical / independent prescriber (where applicable), prescribe medications within clinical competencies.
* Provide care through screening programmes, nurse‑led clinics, accept referrals, carry out diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, conduct physical assessments and obtain written consent to treatment.
* Refer patients directly to specialists in other professions.
* Provide expert specialist clinical advice for patients, carers and health care professionals.
* Carry a caseload and manage complex cases.
* Improve and maintain standards of care within the specialty.
* Develop the skills of generalist nurses and other health professionals (including doctors) to enable them to provide a high standard of care within the specialty.
