Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety. MOT class 4 tester cert an advantage, or willing to work towards getting one. Duties
* Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles using schematics and technical manuals to identify faults.
* Perform repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension components.
* Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to disassemble, repair, and reassemble automotive parts.
* Interpret technical drawings and assembly instructions to ensure accurate repairs and installations.
* Carry out welding and other fabrication tasks as required for bodywork or structural repairs.
* Maintain detailed records of all work carried out and parts used for each vehicle.
* Assist with equipment repair and preventative maintenance to minimise downtime.
* Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and advising on future maintenance needs.
* Undertake heavy lifting tasks safely when handling vehicle parts or equipment.
* Ensure all work complies with safety standards and organisational policies.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as an Automotive Mechanic or similar role with a solid understanding of vehicle systems.
* Proficiency in reading schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools.
* Mechanical knowledge combined with practical skills in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
* Strong understanding of vehicle assembly processes and maintenance procedures.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex issues accurately.
* Good customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about repairs and maintenance recommendations.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work efficiently under pressure.
* Relevant certifications or qualifications in automotive technology or mechanics are preferred but not essential.
