Job Overview

THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT FOR 12 MONTHS DUE TO FUNDING

We are currently looking for an experienced and proactive Medical Secretary to join the Heart Failure nurses in Glan Clwyd Hospital. The candidate will be enthusiastic and highly motivated with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Main duties of the job

The role involves providing a comprehensive range of secretarial and administrative duties to the Heart Failure Nurses. The position requires someone who is a team player, flexible, organized, and able to work well under pressure. The successful candidate will need to be an experienced typist with excellent communication skills, capable of meeting the demands of a busy environment, and representing the department professionally.

Knowledge of Welsh is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally encouraged to apply.

Person Specification

Qualifications

* NVQ Business Administration L3 or equivalent experience
* RSA/OCR Level 2 or equivalent; proficient in Microsoft Word
* IT qualification such as CLAIT Plus/ECDL or equivalent

Desirable qualifications

* AMSPAR – City & Guilds L3
* NVQ Customer Service L3

Experience

* Knowledge of administrative processes
* Experience working in a busy office environment
* Typing experience

Desirable experience includes NHS work experience.

Skills

* Effective communication with all staff levels
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize workload
* Flexibility and adaptability
* Excellent organizational skills

Desirable skills include minute-taking.

Knowledge

* Evidence of continuous personal development
* Ability to handle sensitive information

Desirable knowledge includes NHS organizational structure and medical terminology.
