Supporting SEND pupils in Early Years in a mainstream Primary School
I am seeking a Learning Support Assistant to work in a team to support children with special educational needs in Foundation stage in a welcoming Leicestershire school.
This role is varied, and the school is looking for an adaptable, flexible and resourceful individual, able to cope in a high-pressure environment and deal with constantly changing priorities.
You will be working to support a SEND pupil under the supervision of the teacher/SENCO. The school is looking for a flexible yet resilient person with a caring nature who enjoys working with children. Experience with Autism and early years would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will :
* be resilient and adaptable
* have excellent communication skills,
* be self-motivated but also works effectively within the support staff team and with teachers and parents.
* enjoy working with children, helping them develop skills and learn effectively.
Are you experienced in :
* Working with a wide range of class teachers to deliver excellent teaching and learning.
* Coaching children on a 1:1 or group basis.
* Accompanying groups on trips.
* Supporting assessment and evidencing learning
* Working with the teacher to create stimulating classroom displays and learning resources
* Maintaining a safe and positive environment for all learners
* Creating opportunities for all learners to reach their potential, irrespective of ability

You will need:
* Competency in English and Maths
* Hold an NVQ Level 2 qualified or above and have experience of working in an early years setting.
* Previous childcare experience.
* a proven ability to work on their own initiative.
* a high level of communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults.
* the ability to use relevant technology/equipment.
* a can-do attitude and ability to work well in a team
* a commitment to the happiness well-being, self-esteem and progress of everyone at the school.
