About the Role:
Join one of Europe's best energy trading desks as a Senior Quantitative Analyst focused on short-term power markets. You will play a key role in developing and maintaining advanced quantitative models to support intraday, day-ahead, and balancing market trading strategies. This is a high-impact role with direct exposure to trading desks, offering the opportunity to work alongside some of the brightest minds in European energy trading.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop, calibrate, and implement quantitative models for short-term power pricing, risk management, and forecasting.
* Collaborate closely with traders, developers, and risk teams to optimize trading algorithms and enhance decision-making processes.
* Perform robust quantitative analysis on market data, including generation, demand, congestion, and renewables integration.
* Lead model validation and continuous improvement initiatives for pricing and risk models.
* Communicate complex quantitative findings to traders and stakeholders clearly.
Candidate Profile:
* Minimum 7 years of quantitative analysis or development experience, ideally in European power markets.
* Proven track record working at top energy trading firms.
* Deep understanding of short-term power markets including intraday, day-ahead, and balancing mechanisms.
* Strong skills in Python and/or C++ for model development and automation.
* Expertise in statistical methods, time series analysis, machine learning, or stochastic modeling.
* Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
