Overview
A design-led architecture practice is seeking a qualified Finance Manager (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) to oversee day-to-day financial operations and support strategic decision-making. This is a pivotal role working closely with senior leadership to ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and performance across the business.
Responsibilities
* Prepare bookkeeping and accountancy systems for annual accounts and tax returns
* Submit quarterly VAT returns and monitor secondary VAT requirements
* Collaborate on annual budgets, revenue targets, and financial KPIs
* Produce monthly and quarterly management accounts and financial reports
* Conduct variance analysis, cash flow projections, and credit risk reviews
* Support project leads with budget tracking and profitability modelling
* Maintain accurate ledgers, reconcile accounts, and issue monthly invoices
* Review payroll and pension reports, manage finance agreements and expenses
* Organise payment runs and liaise with banks within authorisation limits
* Contribute to financial strategy, internal audits, and benchmarking reports
Skills & Experience
* Minimum 5 years in finance roles such as Finance Manager or Management Accountant
* Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and time management
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
* Experience with SAGE 50, Xero, and project management software like Rapport3
* Background in design, construction, or creative industries preferred
