Overview
Reporting to the Camp Manager and working alongside a like-minded team of ratio'd staff, swimming teachers are responsible for planning and delivering safe, structured, fun and active sessions to children aged between 5 and 17 in the school holidays. The programme focuses on developing water-confidence and basic stroke development through structured, active games and activities, rather than a traditional learn-to-swim approach. Safety is a priority, with collaboration with Lifeguards to prepare areas and equipment, manage risk assessments, monitor water conditions, and respond to incidents. Staff will follow the Kings Camps Swimming Policy, venue Normal Operating Procedure and Emergency Action Plan. Sessions typically last 30–45 minutes with a maximum of 16 children in the pool, between 9.30am and 3.30pm, Monday to Friday.
Child safety is our number one priority, so you will supervise children during breaks, participate in swimming sessions, oversee safe use of equipment, promptly record incidents, implement behaviour management policies, and uphold health and safety standards and procedures.
