The Art Technician will play a vital role in supporting teachers and students across KS3–KS5 by preparing materials, maintaining equipment, supporting practical lessons, setting up exhibitions, managing art resources, and overseeing the organisation of studios and specialist spaces such as darkrooms, textile rooms, and digital editing suites. The department frequently hosts showcases, exhibitions, and collaborative projects with local artists, giving the technician ample opportunities to be directly involved in large-scale creative events.
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Art & Design—whether through technical experience, a creative qualification, or practical studio skills. You will be responsible for helping students manage materials, demonstrating processes where appropriate, maintaining stock, organising printmaking presses, kilns, photographic equipment, and ensuring the smooth running of practical workshops. Key Requirements:
