Wind Turbine Service Technician - Haslingden
Nordex Group is seeking a Wind Turbine Service Technician based in Haslingden. This is a permanent contract role.
Location: Haslingden
Hours: Core 40 hours per week (Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm) with overtime as required. Availability for breakdown work at weekends and on-call every 2nd or 3rd weekend (depending on team size). Overtime paid at time and a half; additional payment for the weekend on-call.
What you will be doing
* Servicing and maintenance of Nordex wind turbines in the Haslingden area
* Carry out general and specialised work including repairs, troubleshooting and fault-finding to maximise turbine availability
* On-site performance analysis and implementing action plans to improve fleet performance
* On-site software and hardware updates
* On-line and on-phone technical support
* Creating reports on turbines or turbine components
* Parameter disabling and alarm changes when necessary
What we are looking for
* Experience in mechanical/electrical industries; ability to read electrical, hydraulic and mechanical diagrams
* Mechanical or Electrical training with a qualification at least NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
* Ability to identify and define problems, extract key information from technical data, and develop solutions
* Adaptability to continuous change and varying challenges
* Positive attitude with willingness to learn, lead and continuously improve
* Computer literacy; experience with MS Office, in-house databases and workload management systems
* Willingness to work at heights (up to 140m) and pass a working-at-height test
* Occasional travel, including nights away from home
* Full UK/EU driving licence required
