Description This role is based at our Store Support Centre in Ansty, Coventry (CV7 9RD) and requires attendance in the office at least one day per week, with occasional weeks requiring up to two days. Reporting to the Head of Digital Trading, the Digital Trading Manager is accountable for owning and driving the performance and growth of their categories across digital channels for Argos, ensuring that our category strategies are brilliantly executed within our customer missions. The dynamic and fast moving nature of this role will require confidence, resilience, and sound commercial judgement in order to prioritise and deal effectively with fast changing scenarios and opportunities. The role holder will utilise their influencing skills to ensure that the Digital Trading team acts and works effectively with colleagues across Commercial, Marketing and Digital, utilising all available tools and insights in order to contribute to driving and developing the strategy for their division. What outcomes you need to deliver: Develop and execute a comprehensive digital strategy for assigned categories, driving improvements in digital KPIs to meet business targets. Utilise all available tools and insights to improve digital metrics and commercial outcomes. Foster an insight-driven culture, promoting continuous improvement and ‘test and learn’ activities across the team. Collaborate with other Digital Trading Managers on key projects to enhance digital performance and prioritise resources for timely delivery. Shape future customer journey and optimisation strategies in partnership with Product Content and Content & Experience teams. Produce and regularly update a clear category plan, ensuring Digital’s role in broader business ambitions. Work closely with Commercial Trading leadership to clarify digital trading scope, establish ways of working, and ensure effective communication. Lead, coach, and develop the team, ensuring understanding of digital strategy, clear targets, consistent reporting, and a collaborative, inclusive environment What you need to know and show: Passion and enthusiasm for e-commerce within retail, with a strong customer focus and proven experience in digital trading (essential). Commitment to personal and team development, with experience managing colleagues and teams (essential). Strong analytical and numerical skills to develop strategies and recommendations based on data and insight (essential). Excellent relationship-building and influencing skills with key stakeholders internally and externally (essential). Ability to drive a ‘digital mindset’ across commercial and supply base, engaging teams and stakeholders. Confident decision-making and sound commercial judgement, especially in fast-changing scenarios. Effective communication skills, able to influence at multiple levels. Understanding of retail business operations and inter-divisional interactions.
