GP Receptionist Part Time 18 hours per week
Responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception duties and providing general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties include, but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, effectively using the appointment system, booking appointments, processing information, and assisting patients as required. Acts as the central point of contact for patients, distributing information, messages, and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.
Main duties of the job
1. Maintain and monitor the practice appointment system.
2. Process personal, telephone, and e-requests for appointments.
3. Answer incoming phone calls, transfer calls, or deal with the caller's requests appropriately.
4. Signpost patients to the correct service.
5. Manage repeat prescriptions, ensuring they are processed accurately and efficiently.
6. Initiate contact with and respond to requests from patients, team members, and external agencies.
7. Clinically code data on SystmOne.
8. Photocopy documentation as required.
9. Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information.
10. Input data into patients' healthcare records as necessary.
11. Direct requests for information, e.g., SAR, insurance/solicitors letters, and DVLA forms, to the administrative team.
12. Manage all queries efficiently.
13. Maintain a clean, tidy, and effective working area at all times.
14. Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards.
15. Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested.
16. Action incoming emails and correspondence as necessary.
17. Scan patient-related documentation and attach scanned documents to patients' records.
18. Complete opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota.

Our team includes an Advanced Nurse Prescriber, a Nurse Practitioner, and two experienced nurses, along with healthcare assistants who manage long-term conditions. The practice benefits from excellent administration and reception staff at both sites.
Job responsibilities
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 8am-12.30pm
There may be occasional requirements to carry out other tasks depending on workload and staffing levels.
