Job responsibilities
Job Purpose
9. Assist consultant cardiologist with exercise tolerance tests (ie Treadmills)
10. Perform electrocardiograms (ECGs)
11. Clean, prepare, apply and remove ambulatory ECG, holter monitors and blood pressure monitors
12. Undertake clinical evaluation of results, reporting acute or abnormal findings to senior staff or consultant
13. Assist cardiac physiologists with organisation and running of diagnostic and consultant lists
14. Assist with receptionist and clerical duties within the department including appointment booking/ amendment, telephone queries, filing and clinic preparation
15. Assist nursing staff in cardiology pre-assessment (POA) clinic
16. Carry out phlebotomy (if experienced to carry out)
What we are looking for:
17. Experience in addressing and assessing an individuals health and wellbeing needs
18. Provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information
19. Experience of an environment and culture that actively improves health, safety and security
20. Experience of improving quality and services
21. Support to patients rights and promote their equality and diversity
22. Will need hospital experience and ideally experience in Cardiology
23. A minimum NVQ level 3 in Health & social care
