We are looking for an Engineering Shift Manager (Nights) to join our Manufacturing Operation at the Greenside Bradford site.
The responsibilities for the Engineering Shift Manager are crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of the manufacturing site.
Responsibilities in more detail: Minimizing Machinery Downtime: Proactively maintain, predict, and respond swiftly to breakdowns to keep equipment operational and meet production schedules.
Improving Performance: Continuously seek opportunities to enhance equipment performance through process optimization, upgrades, and data-driven improvements.
Engineer Engagement: Foster a positive work environment, provide training, and recognize achievements to motivate the engineering team.
Asset Care Programme: Lead and support strategies to maintain and prolong asset life, reduce costs, and uphold best practices.
Hands-On Approach: Be actively involved in repairing and optimizing equipment to set an example and address issues promptly.
Maintenance Coordination: Coordinate with the Maintenance team to plan and execute maintenance efficiently, preventing disruptions.
Crisis Incident Management: Prepare for and handle incidents, accidents, and near misses, ensuring safety and corrective actions.
Discipline and Grievance: Enforce procedures to maintain order and address misconduct appropriately.
About you Along with the ability to work at pace, you will need:
Qualifications to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent), ONC mechanical/electrical engineering, or BTEC level 3 in mechanical & electrical/electronic engineering
Proven experience in an engineering and fault-finding role within an FMCG environment, ideally food industry
Experience in people management and delivering results through a team
Understanding of HACCP principles; IEE qualification up to 18th edition wiring regulations (preferred)
Excellent communication skills
Assertiveness and decision-making ability
A proactive attitude and strong work ethic
