Organisational Design (OD) Specialist: The OD Specialist plays a pivotal role at the heart of our HR engine room, driving the organisational design activity that underpins the successful integration of Saga, Ageas and esure. This role brings specialist OD expertise to shape clear, consistent and well structured design proposals, consultation materials and organisational insights that help leaders and colleagues navigate change with confidence.
Working closely with the People Integration Lead, HR Business Partners and senior leaders, the OD Specialist ensures all OD work—from modelling and consultation packs to policy harmonisation and TUPE documentation—is delivered with precision, clarity and pace. By producing high quality materials, robust analysis and accessible employee-facing content, the role enables effective decision making and a seamless colleague experience throughout the integration.
This is a central role in a high profile, fast moving programme—ideal for someone who thrives on collaboration, complexity and meaningful impact. You will help shape the organisation we become.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Translate functional OD proposals into clear, consistent organisational design materials, including business cases, role profiles and spans/layers visuals.
2. Produce high quality consultation materials—employee packs, FAQs, scripts and guidance—and ensure accurate, compliant content for collective and individual consultations.
3. Create and maintain tools for selection processes, supporting leaders and HR with scoring, assessments and decision making.
4. Lead the development and governance of all OD documentation, ensuring alignment to integration design principles and robust version control.
5. Support policy harmonisation, TUPE documentation and benefits review activities by preparing clear analysis, templates and supporting materials.
6. Maintain OD trackers, dashboards and reporting, supporting programme governance, risk management and updates for the People Integration Lead.
Skills and experience:
7. Strong background in organisational design, people change or HR project roles within complex organisations.
8. Solid understanding of UK employment law relating to organisational change, consultation, redundancy, selection and TUPE.
9. Excellent written communication skills, able to turn complex concepts into clear, engaging materials for leaders and employees.
10. Strong analytical capability, with experience producing measures, trackers and reports for governance and decision making.
11. Highly organised and detail focused, able to manage multiple deliverables at pace within tight timelines.
12. Experienced in large scale change or integration programmes, with strong stakeholder management skills across HR, leaders and programme teams.
