Fitting and Assembly Technician Location: Rubery, Birmingham Salary: £41,600 At NPP, we are working with a leading manufacturer of bespoke lighting solutions, who are looking for a skilled Fitting and Assembly Technician to join their growing production team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a company that designs and builds one of a kind lighting pieces for high end projects across the UK and overseas. The Role You’ll be responsible for assembling, wiring, and finishing custom lighting products, working from technical drawings and specifications to bring creative designs to life. Your day-to-day duties will include: * Building and fitting bespoke lighting components with precision and care * Wiring and testing products to meet safety and quality standards (training provided) * Reading and following assembly drawings and job instructions * Using hand tools, machinery, and workshop equipment safely and efficiently * Ensuring all work meets required deadlines and quality expectations * Collaborating with colleagues across the workshop to deliver outstanding results About You * Previous experience in assembly, fitting, or workshop-based work * Confident using hand tools and workshop equipment * Able to read and understand technical drawings and job instructions * Excellent attention to detail and a strong work ethic * Positive attitude and a willingness to learn new skills * Full UK driving licence required * Experience with electrical assembly or lighting products would be beneficial, but not essential – full training will be given What’s on Offer * Competitive salary (based on experience) * 40-hour working week * 27 days holiday plus bank holidays (rising to 30 with service) * Employer pension contribution up to 6% * Death in service benefit (3x salary) * Health cash plan to help with everyday healthcare costs * Access to a digital health and well-being app offering GP, mental health, and physiotherapy support * Employee Assistance Programme for confidential advice and support * Company sick pay scheme This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on, practical work and wants to build a career within a supportive and highly skilled manufacturing team.
