Birchwell Associates are supporting a leading technology organisation in the search for an Entry-Level Data Centre Engineer to join their team in Farnborough. This role is ideal for someone recently qualified and eager to begin their career in a data centre environment, or for candidates with a technical background looking to transition into this field.
Responsibilities
Monitor data centre systems and respond to alerts or incidents promptly.
Manage service desk requests, tickets, and inbound client communications.
Assist with installation of server racks, cabling, and related equipment.
Provide technical remote hands support for clients in line with SLAs.
Carry out cabling installations and follow client patching requirements.
Support logistics operations including deliveries, inventory, and site access.
Supervise third-party providers on site when required.
Candidate Profile
A technical background or recent qualification in IT/engineering.
Awareness of data centre environments (prior experience an advantage, not essential).
Understanding of cabling, hardware installation, and physical infrastructure.
Basic knowledge of servers, networking, switching, and routing.
Awareness of IT cabling systems and electrical standards.
Proactive, eager to learn, and able to work well in a client-facing setting.
