Slough has received grant funding and wants to meet the deadline to submit a plan in Dec 2026, and the Borough has a range of exciting projects underway. We need a qualified MRTPI Planning Policy Manager (with at least 5 years Planning Policy experience in a Local Planning Authority) to complete a SHELAA – strategic housing and employment land availability assessment – to support the new Slough Local Plan. This would involve all elements – e.g. from producing the scope, managing procurement and commissioning, to working with consultants to publish a completed study. The applicant would be the lead officer for the project, working with minimal supervision and administration support. They would need to come into the office in Slough on a Wednesday weekly. SBC will supply a laptop but the applicant will need to have a DSE compliant home office for remote working. The role is 35-37 hrs a week over a 6 month period, (with at least 2 weeks leave to be taken from 22nd Dec- 2nd Jan).
