This role can be offered as either a permanent position, or a fixed term contract for 12 months, depending on candidate preference. Reporting to the Underwriting Segment Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping our underwriting strategy for a defined product range - bringing expert judgement, developing guidance, and translating underwriting appetite into clear, actionable rules and processes. You’ll work closely with colleagues across Pricing, Propositions, Sales, Agency, Claims and wider business functions, influencing decision making and ensuring our underwriting practices remain consistent, customer focused, and commercially effective. As part of our continued transformation, you’ll contribute to strategic projects that improve how we operate and support our ambition to remain the UK’s most trusted insurer - making and ensuring our underwriting practices remain consistent, customer-focused, and commercially effective. The role offers hybrid working to support flexibility, collaboration, and wellbeing – this will involve spending 20% of your time at one of our NFU Mutual offices (Stratford-upon Avon, York, Bristol, Belfast or Glasgow), and up to 80% of your time working from home.About youYou bring strong technical knowledge and a background in Farm underwriting, supported by analytical and strategic thinking skills.
