45p per mile business mileage | Up to £150 per week accommodation expense
We are looking for a Social Work Manager to help us on our improvement journey. Come and join us on our Restorative Journey of Improvement to gain the best for children and families in Herefordshire.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage one of five social work teams undertaking Safeguarding & Support work within the locality structure.
* Be experienced in child in need and child protection work, PLO pre-proceedings, care proceedings and adoption work.
* Provide high-quality supervision and case direction, focusing on improving outcomes for children.
* Work as part of a service management team to embed good practice with a focus on relationship-based and restorative practice.
* Manage a team of social workers and family support workers with input from a Managing Practitioner.
* Contribute to planning in the Leominster Mult-Agency Office and participate in meetings as required.
* Support service delivery with budgeting and performance improvement methods to meet challenging expectations.
Qualifications and experience
* Fully qualified (Degree in Social Work or equivalent).
* Significant post-qualification social work experience.
* Evidence of CPD and Social Work England registration.
Team and location details
Location: Northern region with primary base at the Leominster Multi-Agency Office. Flexibility for home working within an agreed plan, with some meetings in person and weekly office attendance as agreed.
The Children’s Safeguarding & Support teams are based across Herefordshire as we move to a locality-based model (North, South and Central areas). The post is based in Leominster, with accessibility and collaboration across the area.
Additional expectations
* Proven track record of effective service delivery, including staff and budget management and implementing service and quality improvements.
* Regular supervision with a Service Manager, with availability for formal and informal discussions.
* Commitment to a restorative approach to social work and to achieving the right outcomes for families.
About the team
Herefordshire Council Safeguarding & Support Teams operate in a locality-based model across North, South and Central Herefordshire, with good transport links. Teams include a Team Manager and five social workers per locality. The local base is Leominster, with some home-working arrangements as agreed.
