About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing Teaching Assistant to work closely with a child in our primary setting who requires additional support with behaviour. This is a rewarding opportunity to help a pupil thrive both academically and emotionally, within a supportive and inclusive school environment.

Job Opportunity: Primary Teaching Assistant (1:1 Behaviour Support)
Location: Burnley

Hours: Full-time

Start Date: Monday 5th January 2025
Contract Type: Full-time (8.30am – 3.30pm)

Key Responsibilities

- Provide consistent 1:1 support to a pupil with behavioural challenges.

- Implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation.

- Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals.

- Support the pupil’s learning across the curriculum, adapting tasks where necessary.

- Build a trusting relationship that encourages engagement and progress.

- Monitor and record progress, contributing to reviews and planning meetings.

What We’re Looking For

- Experience working with children with behavioural needs (school-based or otherwise).

- A calm, patient, and proactive approach.

- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection.

- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant Certificate) are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
