ROLE OVERVIEW
The Senior Online Editor (Localisation) is a key finishing role within our post-production team, focusing on localisation workflows for theatrical, broadcast, and social media content.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical eye for detail, significant QC expertise, proficiency in creative and technical grading, and in-depth colour management knowledge. You’ll work collaboratively with producers, editors, and technical teams to ensure the timely and high-quality delivery of localised video assets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Work with the Head of Online to manage and oversee localisation and finishing projects across key client accounts.
* Collaborate with localisation producers, graphics, and audio teams to deliver localised versions of trailers, TV spots, featurettes, and promos for international markets.
* Handle a high volume of short-form content across theatrical, broadcast, and social platforms to tight deadlines.
* Lead on technical troubleshooting for post-production workflows and incoming projects.
* Oversee creation, maintenance, and improvement of workflow templates and best practices.
* Perform QC of assets to high standards, including artefact fixing, consistency checks, text safety, framerate verification, and source media assessment.
* Conform and grade projects using DaVinci Resolve, managing creative and match grading across Rec709, HDR, P3, and other colour spaces.
* Execute standards conversions including Alchemist-based framerate correction and spatial patterning fixes.
* Ensure all materials meet delivery specifications and compliance requirements (broadcast, theatrical, social).
* Manage encoding and file delivery workflows, with attention to metadata and format requirements.
* Troubleshoot and conform projects from XML/EDL-based workflows from other NLEs.
* Ensure well-organised project and folder-level media management to support collaborative campaigns.
TECHNICAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in post-production environments.
* 5 years of hands-on experience in Premiere Pro CC and Media Encoder.
* Expert-level proficiency in DaVinci Resolve, including:
* RCM and ACES colour workflows
* Grading and colour matching (creative and technical)
* Conforming camera RAW formats (e.g., ARRI, RED)
* Delivery of DCDMs and theatrical masters
* Troubleshooting and asset workflow management
* Deep knowledge of colour spaces: Rec709, P3, XYZ, HDR (Rec2020/PQ), RAW, Davinci Wide Gamut.
* Advanced understanding of QC processes, including:
* Flashing and Harding compliance
* Picture/text safety for different platforms
* Framerate issues and standards conversion
* Colour balancing and exposure adjustment
* Familiarity with subtitle and caption formats and workflows: SRT, TTML (IMSC 1.1), DXFP
* Understanding of audio mapping, GFX workflows, and layered deliverables.
* Proficient in encoding workflows, file delivery specs, and metadata handling.
* Collaborative team player with excellent communication and organisation skills.
* Working knowledge of hardware such as colour-critical monitors, BMD I/O boxes, and capture cards.
* Experience with project and media consolidation for client handovers and archiving.
