It develops innovative and agile communication, defence and cyber security technologies, with an emphasis on R&D, design, and rapid prototyping. It is a trusted specialist supplier of high-grade cryptography, advanced network products, and related services and as such has become a key partner to the UK’s government, military, and civil organisations. It is a young company, enjoying rapid progress and notable success in a dynamic global market. The founders are active in the running of the business and have ambitious plans for it. Thanks to its rate of organic growth and a recent and very successful merger with a complementary business, the company now needs to recruit an experienced Finance Director to join the leadership team and provide financial direction and strategic input to this highly successful and very profitable business as it expands at home and internationally.
Role
* lead the UK finance team
* advise the UK CEO and Group FD
* influence long-term strategic planning
* provide guidance to the leadership team
* facilitate growth plans, including M&A activity
* decision support
* manage cashflow and treasury
* financial compliance and statutory reporting
* ensure robust and rigorous processes
* FP&A, set and monitor budgets and KPIs
* drive performance improvement
* tax planning and compliance
* support bid and contract pricing and negotiation
* identify, manage and mitigate financial risk
* own investor relations, as the primary contact with financiers
* develop and maintain relationships with auditors, insurers and advisers
* provide leadership to group integration activities
Candidate
* accounting qualification ICAS / ICAEW / CIMA / ACCA
* degree in finance, accounting or STEM subject
* prior senior finance role in a scale-up / high-growth SME / business unit
* experienced in providing strategic advice and financial direction
* data driven, willing to challenge assumptions
* excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
* entrepreneurial and determined
* energetic and collaborative
* highly numerate and commercial
* strong organisational skills, close attention to detail
* team player, but able to work autonomously
* able to work on-site, remotely, or internationally, as required
* unimpeachable integrity
* willing to undergo and confident of obtaining UK security clearance
