Role Purpose
The Head of Programmes provides strategic and operational leadership for Pinc College’s Post16 study programmes across multiple campuses. The role ensures that all programmes deliver high quality teaching, inclusive practice, strong student outcomes, and full compliance with DfE funding rules, Ofsted requirements and SEND legislation.
The Head of Programmes is responsible for curriculum leadership, safeguarding, SEND coordination, quality assurance, team development, and ensuring an exceptional student experience across all designated campuses.
Key Responsibilities
1. Programmes Leadership
* Responsible for timetable planning, delivery and ongoing development of Pinc’s Engage, Creative Enterprise, and Supported Internship programmes.
* Responsible for programmes aligning to DfE 16–19 Study Programmes requirements, including qualifications, work experience, personal development, English and maths (where applicable).
* Embed Pinc College Methodology, Pedagogy and SEND Strategy across all college campuses.
* Ensure consistent programmes implementation and student experience across campuses.
* Use data to inform programmes improvement, curriculum intent and operational decision making-.
* Responsible for ensuring campuses and programmes meet deadlines, KPIs and targets

2. Quality of Education (Ofsted EIF)
* Ensure curriculum intent reflects student needs, EHCP outcomes and progression pathways.
* Responsible for monitoring of Teaching and Learning strategy, Learning and Assessment through observation, support and mentoring, and review cycles, with support from PEG, Leaders of Quality of Curriculum and Outcomes, Teacher Performance and Development
* Track student progress, outcomes, attendance, destinations, progression data, identifying areas for improvement.
* Responsible for ensuring interventions are implemented and tracked
* Responsible for preparation for Ofsted inspections and internal quality reviews.
* Work with responsible teachers to oversee schemes of work, session templates and assessment strategies.
3. Safeguarding & Wellbeing
* Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the campus and Deputy DSL for Pinc College.
* Oversee safeguarding processes, disclosures, recording, referrals and multi-agency partnership working.
* Embed Prevent duty, wellbeing strategies and safe practice across provision.
* Ensure all team follow safeguarding policy and receive regular updates and training.
4. SEND Leadership & EHCP Coordination
* Responsible for SEND provision across allocated campuses, ensuring universal strategies and reasonable adjustments are consistently applied.
* Responsible for the full student consultation and Enrolment process with Local Authorities, assessing whether Pinc can meet need.
* Review EHCP and ALN documents, preparing student care plans and support strategies.
* Coordinate individual learning plans (ILPs) aligned to aspirations and EHCP outcomes in conjunction with Assistant Head of Programmes, Teacher and Progress Support.
* Ensure high quality Annual Reviews are completed by allocated- team within statutory timelines, working with families and local authority representatives.
* Monitor and record progress against EHCP outcomes using college MIS systems.
5. Team Leadership & People Management
* Recruit, onboard and induct all team following safer recruitment principles.
* Provide supervision, appraisal, support, mentoring, and performance management, including probation reviews.
* Identify and sign post for team wellbeing, workload management and professional development.
* Identify skill gaps via QA processes and coordinate high impact CPD, and attend as required-.
* Build a positive, inclusive and collaborative team culture.
* Ensure team adhere to all Pinc policies, safeguarding requirements and professional standards.
6. Employer, Cultural & Industry Partnerships
* Develop and maintain partnerships with employers, cultural institutions and creative industry organisations.
* Utilise wider teams and specialists.
* Support the delivery of industry-led projects, work experience, placements and employer engagement.
* Oversee Supported Internship placements, working with job mentors and employers to ensure meaningful workplace learning.
* Ensure Teachers and Team embed cultural buildings and community resources to enhance curriculum delivery. In alignment with our asset-based model.
* Promote and model Pinc Culture and Values with Team, Students and all stakeholders
7. Compliance, MIS & Data Management
* Ensure accurate and timely recording of student attendance, progress, safeguarding, wellbeing and other statutory information, using Pinc MIS systems accurately
* Monitor and take action on team records related to performance, supervision and team meetings, with advice were needed.
* Monitor programmes hours, timetabling, and DfE funding compliance requirements.
* Work with MIS, exams and finance teams to ensure data accuracy for funding audit readiness.
* Responsible for compliance with financial regulations and procurement policies. Responsible for qualification registrations, learning aims and evidence meet awarding body requirements working with Pinc Exams.
8. Campus Operations & Student Experience
* Ensure a high-quality, aspirational and inclusive student experience across all campuses
* Responsible for campus level communications, calendars, briefings and progress meetings.
* Responsible for financial oversight to ensure value for money (VfM) across programmes, challenging spend and driving cost-efficiency without compromising outcomes. Responsible for bursary processes, FSM and financial procedures linked to campus operations.
* Build strong relationships with families, carers and external professionals.
* Support enrolment activities, taster days, induction, results days and progression planning.
* Promote land document student voice, feedback and co-creation opportunities.
* Promote and be responsible for team, parent/carer and student forums.
9. Cross-Campus- Coordination
* Responsible for programmes across 2–3 campuses, ensuring consistent delivery, quality and expectations, in line with relevant compliance requirements
* Share best practice between teams and contribute to college wide development activity.
* Maintain collaborative relationships with central support teams and organisations within the group (Admissions, Funding & Finance, Exams, People Team, Student Experience, Quality, Operations, Impact and compliance).
10. General Duties
* Ensure accurate electronic records, confidentiality and GDPR compliance.
* Uphold equality, diversity and inclusion across all aspects of the role.
* Follow health and safety procedures, safeguarding protocols and all Pinc policies.
* Regular travel between campuses as required.
