JOB TITLE: Laundry Assistant

REPORTING TO: Laundry Manager
LOCATION: Galgorm (Ballymena)
HOURS: Full Timeincluding weekend work, varies shifts patterns, 8am-4pm, 10am - 6pm, 12pm-8pm. (Shift-times may be subject to change).
Hours will be discussed at interview stage.
SALARY: £12.21 per hour moving to £13.21 per hour after 6 months service
About the role:
The Laundry department can be very busy at times and this role is quite physically demanding but you will work alongside a supportive team to keep the laundry store organised and well-stocked, the machine operative role will include heavy lifting, You will operate and maintain a range of industrial laundry machinery while working efficiently as part of a busy, high-performing team.
Job Description:
The main responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
* Maintaining the laundry store facilities to meet company standards
* Operate and monitor laundry machines, including washers, dryers, ironers, and folders, in accordance with set procedures.
* Fold, pack, and prepare finished items for delivery to relevant departments.
* Monitor machine performance and report faults or maintenance needs promptly.
* Monitoring stock levels
* Keeping the areas clean, tidy, and organised.
* Cleaning and servicing all Galgorm Collection laundry as directed by the laundry manager and as per daily checklists.
* Understanding wash guide instructions and requirements of the properties of cleaning materials to ensure that all areas are well presented and maintained in good condition.
* Ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of all cleaning machinery.
* Working within the guidelines of health and safety operatives to ensure all staff and guests are safe at all times.
* To be fully conversant and comply with the health, safety, hygiene, fire, and security regulations and procedures of the laundry department and ensure others are aware of their responsibilities in this regard.
* Carrying out any other duties as requested by department heads or management.
Essential Criteria:
The successful applicant must:
* Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Have the ability to prioritise their time and the importance of various tasks, along with great organisational skills.
* Must display a flexible work approach and be available to work weekends and weekdays
* Be able to multitask and be an excellent team player.
* Physically fit, with the ability to lift and move loads safely.
Desirable;
* Previous housekeeping/laundry experience.
* Hold a full clean driving license to fulfill delivering duties of laundry to other sites across the Collection
* Previous experience working in a store/warehouse environment.
