Lead Land Surveyor (Full Time, Permanent)

About the Role
The role is based out of the Wakefield Office but involves nationwide fieldwork and travel, including overnight stays. The position is full‑time and permanent, reporting to the Associate Director.
Responsibilities
* Adhere to working instructions from internal and external clients.
* Carry out topographical and associated geomatic surveys using Total Station, 3D laser scanning and GNSS.
* Process data and produce outputs using survey software.
* Compile survey reports and documentation in conjunction with the Project & CAD Manager.
* Maintain vehicles and survey equipment in line with company expectations.
* Undertake internal and external training as part of personal professional development.
* Demonstrate a keen attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
* Provide training and mentoring to junior staff.
* Follow all RSK company policies and client policies when on site.
* Maintain and develop technical knowledge, such as British and industry standards.
About You
* Minimum of 3 years industry experience in a similar role.
* Experience using Total Stations and GNSS.
* Experience with 3D laser scanners is preferred.
* Experience with n4ce and Trimble Realworks software is desirable.
* CSCS card holder essential.
* Relevant NVQ or degree level qualification desirable.
* Willingness to attend and pass internal and industry recognised external training courses.
* Ability to follow instructions and work both part of a multidisciplinary team and independently using own initiative.
* Self‑motivated, solutions focused, organised with effective time management.
* Professional and polite conduct at all times.
* Familiarity with data management tools and reporting software including Microsoft Office; computer literate (training provided for other software).
* Adaptability to variable working environments.
* Capability to work remotely across the UK, including from home when agreed and approved; possibility of overseas travel.
* Willingness to work flexible hours as required.
* Valid UK driving licence.
* Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
