The Role
As a Functional Assessor, you will play a crucial role in assessing how individuals' disabilities or conditions impact their work life. Your clinical expertise will shine as you:
* Conduct thorough assessments by listening to each person's medical history.
* Perform physical examinations to gather essential information.
* Produce concise and accurate reports for the Department of Work & Pensions (DWP) to determine eligibility for benefits.
You’ll connect with individuals both face-to-face and via telephone/video, ensuring that you approach each interaction with sensitivity and compassion. Your ability to ask the right questions while upholding best practice standards will be key to your success.
With ample time to focus on each assessment, you’ll work independently but remain part of a supportive multi-disciplinary team. Your well-being and professional growth are our priorities!
About You
* HCPC Registered Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, or Paramedic with a minimum of 12 months recent broad-based post-registration experience.
* Experience in functional assessment and clinical decision-making is a plus.
* Continuous Professional Development (CPD) reflected on your CV.
* Membership in a relevant professional body.
* Completion of ECDL or equivalent is advantageous.
* Strong understanding of clinical governance and customer service standards.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills, adaptable to a changing environment.
* Proficient IT skills and experience with various software.
* Self-aware and committed to professional development.
* Honest, maintaining integrity and customer confidentiality.
* Motivated to deliver quality customer service with empathy and respect.
* Able to work independently while meeting deadlines and standards.
* Ready to be a reliable team member, supporting the multi-disciplinary team.
* Eligible to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available).
