Are you looking for a career in IT/Network?
My client is seeking a hands-on individual who is eager to learn. Practical skills are more important than technical expertise, though a basic understanding of networking and an interest in the field would be beneficial. Initially, the role focuses more on installation work rather than technical troubleshooting. The job involves outdoor activities such as working out of a van, drilling holes, mounting steelwork, and climbing ladders.
Overview
A Junior Network Engineer is responsible for the installation and maintenance of customer networks, including on-site installation, surveys, and support of network equipment both on and off-site. The role reports to the Engineering Manager and Senior Engineers.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Installing and maintaining networking and communications infrastructure.
2. Building and installing steelwork brackets, masts, and related communications equipment.
3. Installing internal and external wireless equipment, such as point-to-point microwave radios, CCTV cameras, mobile data routers, and network devices, following client specifications, within budget and time constraints.
4. Completing site visit reports promptly.
5. Meeting key performance indicators aligned with company objectives.
6. Coordinating with lead engineers, project managers, or the Engineering Manager to ensure timely arrival at job sites.
7. Maintaining, checking, and restocking the company van as advised by experienced engineers.
8. Presenting a professional, customer-facing attitude and demeanor when visiting customer sites.
