ABOUT THE ROLE
First impressions matter. At The Nest, we are dedicated to bringing joy to our guests through not only exceptional food and drink but also a memorable and welcoming atmosphere. From the moment guests enter The Nest until the time they leave, they should feel valued and genuinely cared for. You'll receive comprehensive training on our food and drink menus, including any allergen and dietary information, to ensure you're well-prepared to serve every guest's needs.
Restaurant Responsibilities: As a team member of The Nest, you'll warmly welcome guests, guide them to their tables, and provide menus for review. After taking their initial drink order, you'll be attentive, returning to take food orders and suggesting sides or specials where appropriate. You'll ensure that food and drinks are served promptly, check back to see if additional drinks or items are needed, and maintain a smooth flow of service throughout the meal. Once meals are finished, you'll clear plates and glassware, offer dessert and drinks from our Stokes range, and handle the billing process when requested. After a table is vacated, you'll reset it promptly for the next guests.
Bar Responsibilities: Assisting with drink orders for both the bar and restaurant. Throughout your shift, you'll help clear empty glasses from tables, ensuring they're placed in the glass-washing area and ready for reuse.
General Responsibilities: As part of the team, you'll participate in regular cleaning duties to uphold our high standards of hygiene in both the restaurant and bar. You'll also manage restocking to ensure that the restaurant and bar areas are fully prepared for the following day's service. Throughout, you'll communicate professionally, with a friendly and respectful manner, and positively engage with our guests and team members. Flexibility to meet business needs, a calm demeanour, and the ability to work under pressure are key. Any customer issues should be promptly brought to the attention of your Team Leader or Manager on shift.
What We're Looking For: The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar hospitality role. A 'can do' attitude and good organisational skills, along with a keen eye for detail, are essential.
