A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the Vascular & GI Surgery Team at Southmead Hospital as a Data Validator. We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and hardworking person to join our Data Validation team under the guidance and supervision of the Data Validation & Performance Lead. You will be expected to review and validate patient pathways, ensuring compliance with local and national policies around the 18 weeks Referral to Treatment pathways (RTT). This role is instrumental in maintaining good quality and accurate data and requires excellent attention to detail, and a proactive approach to identifying and solving pathway data quality issues.
Generative artificial intelligence (AI) describes algorithms that can be used to produce new content, including audio, code, images, text, simulations, and videos. It is developing all the time and is now being used as a support mechanism for all kinds of content-based creations. Please note the use of AI is monitored and if applicants have used it then they are required to declare this.
Main duties of the job
* To regularly download and validate reports on the department’s performance provided by information management.
* To assist in the completion of data validation tasks on a monthly basis.
* To regularly check and clear up uncashed outpatient appointments.
* To regularly check and clear up admission dates in the past.
* To regularly check the care of patients whose waiting times have exceeded targets to verify that information has been recorded correctly and to facilitate further care where needed.
* To check care pathways where information has been recorded as missing and obtain the required information.
* To assist staff in the department in the use of Lorenzo to prevent data quality issues arising.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
* To assist with other data quality and validation issues facing the department, as required. To ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.
* To assist in the training of new members of staff in the department, as required.
* To work flexibly according to the needs of the service, including cover for colleagues during periods of leave.
* To work with colleagues to appropriately manage the office environment, including resource management in terms of stationery and general office upkeep.
* To ensure Surgery Specialty policies are implemented within own work area and to contribute to suggested changes as required.
* To ensure compliance with a range of Trust policies, including Health & Safety, Infection Control, Confidentiality, Data Protection, Sickness Absence and Risk Assessment.
* Such other reasonable duties, appropriate to the Grade, as agreed between the post holder and manager from time to time.

Education
Essential criteria
* Education - Achieved Grades C or above or have relevant experience
Desirable criteria
* Experience and Knowledge of PAS system
