Planteria Manager - London Summary We have an exciting opportunity to manage a team, of staff and volunteers at Morden Hall Park, Garden Centre. As Planteria Manager, you will manage the day-to-day operations of the outdoor plant sales area and lead your team to deliver exceptional customer service. You’ll be experienced in managing people, creating outstanding merchandising displays, achieving great customer service and building great sales and have a good knowledge of plants. Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week Salary: 30,108 per annum including Outer London Weighting Contract: Permanent Interview date: 4 June 2025 Potential start date: ASAP What it's like to work here Morden Hall Park is a green oasis in the city, giving you a taste of a country estate with a glimpse of its agricultural and industrial history. This tranquil former deer park is one of the few remaining estates that used to line the River Wandle during its industrial heyday. The river meanders through the park creating a haven for wildlife. The park is also home of the National Trust's only garden centre. When you step through the gates, you'd be forgiven for imagining yourself to be in the middle of the English countryside. Surrounded by meadows, an Edwardian rose garden, trees and the gentle sounds of birdsong and running water, the park offers a rare sense of discovery and a chance to get away from it all. As the Planteria Manager, you'll be leading a team of both staff and volunteers. The team consists of two Team Leaders who report directly into you and support you with the running of the planteria as well as the other team members. Additionally, we have the fantastic support of a range of volunteers that work in the plant area supporting you, as the Manager with delivering on the day- to-day duties such as watering stock, weeding and plant husbandry and assisting with our visitors. What you'll be doing As Planteria Manager, you’ll lead and support your team at one of the National Trust’s busy visitor attractions. This involves handling things behind the scenes, from administration to developing people and everything in between. You’ll be championing outstanding customer service and keeping presentation standards high, to help give all our visitors an enjoyable day. You'll be responsible for leading and running our plant sales area on a day-to-day basis, so the team can get on with doing what they do best. It’s a busy, lively place, and we want to make sure that we always give visitors the best experience every time. You’ll help to build a great place to work for your team. You’ll develop and train versatile and hard-working people, and encourage high achievement by setting objectives and reviewing their performance. You might also be needed to support the wider property team from time to time. You’ll work with the Garden Centre Manager, to set and achieve financial targets that will increase profitability, as well as overseeing results and acting when needed.
