Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Tutor to join our educational team and Saturday revision programme. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tutoring or teaching, with experience working with children. This role requires a candidate to be relatable, enthusiastic and have excellent communication skills. In addition, the ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the cultural needs of African and Caribbean children and also have a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment that encourages student growth and development.
Responsibilities
* Provide small group Ks4 science tuition.
* Adapt lessons to suit needs of students.
* Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
* Foster a supportive and engaging learning atmosphere that encourages student participation.
* Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to support students' educational journeys.
* Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate progress to relevant stakeholders.
* Stay updated on best practices in education and incorporate innovative teaching strategies.
Requirements
* Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, preferably in a formal educational setting.
* Experience working with children, including those with special educational needs, is highly desirable.
* Good understanding of working inner London and the cultural needs of African and Caribbean children.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage students and parents.
* A patient and empathetic approach to teaching, with the ability to adapt to various learning styles.
* Relevant qualifications in education or a related field are preferred.
