Cloud Operations Team Leader - Milton Keynes (Hybrid)
Salary: £70,000 - 80,000
My client are looking for a Cloud Operations Team Leader to manage their cloud environment, ensuring performance, availability, and security. You'll lead a team of engineers, drive automation, enforce governance best practices, and support development teams through strong CI/CD infrastructure. This is a hands-on leadership role that blends strategy with execution.
What you'll do
* Oversee daily cloud operations—monitoring, incident response, optimisation
* Lead and plan projects using Agile methods
* Implement cloud governance, security, and compliance policies
* Drive automation and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, AI-first approach)
* Support development teams with CI/CD pipelines
* Manage cloud costs and performance using monitoring tools (FinOps)
* Mentor and develop cloud engineers
What you'll bring
* 3+ years\' hands-on AWS experience
* Strong IaC and configuration management skills (Terraform, Ansible, GitHub)
* Proven leadership of cross-functional teams and cloud projects
* Expertise in monitoring, alerting, and performance tuning
* Knowledge of cloud security, governance, and compliance best practices
* Experience with CI/CD workflows
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Nice to have
* SQL Server, Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, IIS/Nginx, Linux, IDS/IPS, PowerShell/Bash, RDS, serverless tech (AWS Lambda, ECS), and applied AI for IaC
