The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our VE Consultancy team, working alongside the country’s top IESVE modelers within the company that developed the software.
You will be an integral part of our expanding international VE Consulting team, responsible for engaging with clients to establish project requirements and model complex projects. This role offers the chance to work on challenging, high-profile projects and to develop your career within a unique team of building simulation consultants.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Manage consultancy projects, including external communications and internal coordination of consultants across all IES divisions worldwide.
2. Take responsibility for consultancy activities.
3. Liaise with other IES divisions to plan and manage support and resources, such as software testing.
4. Operate the software on behalf of clients, including defining project scope, preparing quotations, supervising work, report writing, client communication, and invoicing.
5. Mentor and coach junior consultants on technical and project management aspects.
6. Provide technical support to clients and staff.
7. Contribute to consultancy sales efforts as needed.
8. Act as a liaison point with IES Business Development Managers.
9. Perform additional duties as necessary to support the company’s objectives.
The Candidate
We seek an experienced Project Manager with expertise in Building Physics using IES VE Software, complemented by an appropriate engineering or architectural background, possessing the following skills and experience:
* Degree-level education in a relevant discipline.
* Experience with IES Virtual Environment, including energy modelling.
* Strong communication skills.
* Experience conducting stakeholder meetings and providing clear analysis, findings, and impacts to clients.
* Knowledge of UK building regulations Part L Section 6.
* Understanding of HVAC systems, controls, and system modelling.
* Familiarity with BREEAM, NABERS, LEED, ASHRAE 90.1, Passivhaus standards.
* Experience with daylight modelling.
* Analytical skills, including proficiency with spreadsheets.
* Interest in decarbonisation and Net-Zero strategies.
