We’re looking for a hands-on, proactive multi skilledEngineering Team Leader to join our dynamic team in our Craft Bakery.This is a fantastic opportunity for a time-served mechanical or electrical engineer who is passionate about leadership, continuous improvement, and driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead by example—support, coach, mentor and develop your engineering team.
* Collaborate with the engineering management team to set and achieve KPIs.
* Organise resources effectively to meet reactive production needs and resolve issues quickly.
* Champion a commercial mindset and continuous improvement culture, focusing on proactive maintenance and minimising downtime.
* Manage the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programme—monitor trends, audit performance, and identify areas for optimisation.
* Actively support team CPD and upskilling opportunities.
* Contribute to cross-functional meetings and ensure clear, effective communication across departments.
* Apply robust people management practices including induction, probation reviews, absence and performance management.
* Coordinate contractor visits and manage on-site activities.
* Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety, and hygiene/housekeeping standards.
About You:
* Multi skilled with electrical bias.
* Proven experience leading a team in a manufacturing environment.
* Strong communicator and effective collaborator.
* Experience in food manufacturing or FMCG preferred.
* Demonstrated ability to meet performance targets and KPIs.
* Good understanding of food safety and health & safety standards.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and confident using CMMS systems.
* Organised, efficient and solutions-focused.
* Committed to continuous improvement.
