Position: SEN Support Assistant
Location: Blackburn, Darwen and surrounding areas
Contract Type: Agency – Flexible daily and long-term opportunities
Pay Rate: £80 – £100 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Start Date: ASAP
About the Role:
We are seeking dedicated, compassionate, and proactive SEN Support Assistants to join our team and work across a range of primary and secondary schools in Preston. You will support children and young people with a variety of needs including autism, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing one-to-one or small group support in and out of the classroom
* Assisting with learning activities tailored to individual needs
* Promoting independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing
* Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
* Managing behaviour in a positive and inclusive way
Requirements:
* Experience working with children or young people with SEN (in schools, residential care, youth work or similar settings)
* A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* A DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant, Psychology degree) are desirable but not essential
