Responsibilities
What you'll do?
* Prepare and check aseptic products to ensure patient safety.
* Contribute to the smooth running of technical services, maintaining compliance with GMP standards.
* Play a key role in delivering life‑saving treatments to our patients at WHH.

What will you be responsible for?
The post-holder will, on a day to day basis organise, technical services and staff in the
* Ensuring the effective delivery of the service to internal wards and departments, in accordance with all national and regional guidelines.
* Manage the stock control systems in the aseptic unit.
* The post holder will participate in the training and development of junior members of staff.
Main duties of the job
1. Ensure that technical staff are aware of and adhere to standard operating procedures SOPs, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and the requirements of regional, this includes ensuring that the relevant validation tests are performed.
2. Manage the human resource needs of support workers in the aseptic unit, undertaking their appraisal and personal development planning, monitoring sickness and performing return to work interviews.
3. Work independently in line with clearly defined procedures/protocols and supervise others performing those tasks.
4. Write and review standard operating procedures (SOPs) and submit them to the Aseptic Services Manager and Lead Technician for approval in a timely fashion.
5. Develop and amend worksheets and labels ensuring they are authorised prior to use.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* oNVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services/BTEC or Science manufacturing Technician (SMT)
* oFinal Accuracy Checking Certificate in Technical Services
Registration
* oProfessional registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council, or relevant registration
Experience
* oExperience of working in an NHS hospital pharmacy setting.
* oHave attended the Aseptic Preparation & Dispensing of Medicines (APDM) Course or equivalent
* oTraining of Aseptic services staff
