Overview
Lead the charge in ensuring seamless operations within East Lancashire NHS Trust as a Materials Management Assistant. You will support the theatre and ward teams, manage inventory, optimise supply routes, and drive continuous improvement across the supply chain.
Responsibilities
* Assist in daily materials management for dedicated areas within the Trust, primarily the Emergency Department with possible coverage of theatres and wards.
* Provide inventory replenishment service (order and top‑up) and maintain system data accuracy using Microsoft Excel, auditing and standardisation.
* Offer help‑desk support, delivering customer service and systems understanding to users.
* Manage top‑up stock and non‑stock systems, replenish stock to agreed levels, check receipt deliveries, and put away goods.
* Operate within broad procedural guidelines, exercising independent judgement where required.
* Support the implementation of the Scan for Safety (S4S) dynamic inventory management system and promote enhanced patient safety features.
Working Hours and Shifts
* Regular 37.5 hours per week: 7.5-hour daily shifts (08:00–16:00) Monday to Friday.
* Flexible coverage: weekdays 06:00–22:00, weekends 08:00–16:00, and nights 20:15–06:15 on a four‑weekly rota.
