The Centre Resource Base supports children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other complex needs, ensuring they receive the tailored support necessary to thrive both academically and socially. Role Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated full time Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to supporting children with ASD, encouraging their independence and promoting a positive learning environment. Key Responsibilities: · Provide one-to-one and group support for students with ASD, helping them access the curriculum and develop essential skills. · Work closely with the teaching staff to implement individualised education plans and adapt learning activities as needed. · Create a nurturing and inclusive environment that encourages social interaction and emotional development. · Monitor and record students' progress, behaviour and engagement, providing feedback to teachers and parents. · Collaborate with other professionals, including therapists and specialists, to support the all-inclusive development of each child. · Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with best practices in supporting children with additional needs. Qualifications and Skills: · Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly those with ASD, is highly desirable. · Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or special educational needs (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification/ NVQs) is desirable but not required. · Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues. · Patience, empathy and a passion for supporting children in their learning journey. · Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and to take initiative when required.
