About the role

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate their ability to assess police information to ensure accurate information is passed to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and will play a key role in helping to protect vulnerable people from potentially harmful individuals that are working or seeking to work with vulnerablegroups in regulated activity.
Responsibilities will be and not limited to:
1. To follow the national Quality Assurance Framework (QAF) in order to process workflow sent by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
2. Record a comprehensive rationale to support decision making in accordance with relevant legislation, which is both auditable and compliant.
3. To manage own workload and tasks in a prompt, efficient and proactive manner, ensuring completion within service level agreements (SLA's).
4. Initiate enquiries with local police units, other police force disclosure units and Home Office departments where necessary.
5. To give advice and take appropriate action to resolve public queries at the first point of contact whenever possible, being accountable for maintaining a high standard and managing the expectations regarding the service.
6. To maintain a working knowledge of current legislation

Essential Qualifications
Educated toQCF Level3 OR work experience deemed to have brought the postholder to a comparable level.
Must be a competent keyboard user in all applications within Microsoft Office.
Essential Experience
Working in a busy office environment involving:

The use of computers for data entry, analysis and general office practise.

Good knowledge of Microsoft Applications, including Excel and Word.

Accustomed to high volume of work meeting deadlines.
