My client is one of the World Leaders in the design, manufacture, and production of skid-mounted rotary compressors for the oil and gas industry.
The role:
* The QC Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all materials, components, and assemblies used within the company comply with relevant specifications, drawings, and documentation.
* The ideal candidate will have experience in a Quality Inspection role, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment, including experience with Metrology/Calibration/FARO Arm CMM.
* A HNC/D or City & Guilds qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar, along with a Quality-related qualification such as CSWIP 3.0 or PCN, would be advantageous.
* Candidates should have knowledge of various manufacturing processes and the ability to evaluate and problem-solve. An understanding of interpreting Engineering Drawings, Certification, Specifications & Standards such as API, ISO, PED, etc., is required.
Main duties of the role:
* Ensuring all inspections, documentation, and testing activities are completed accurately.
* Serving as the point of contact for ensuring all materials supplied to and dispatched from the company meet the standards established by drawings, specifications, and documentation.
* Completing inspection and quality assurance activities in Goods Inwards, Despatch, and Work in-process environments.
* Inspecting all components, assemblies, and complete packages throughout manufacturing using contract-specific Inspection and Test Plans (ITP).
* Managing the instrument calibration system.
* Providing documented reports of inspections, assessments, and identifying deficiencies and non-conformances.
* Conducting technical machine shop inspections using Faro 3D CMM measuring equipment and basic mechanical measurement tools.
* Assessing painted components for quality, including adhesion, thickness, and overall quality.
* Assessing welded components to evaluate weld quality through visual inspection and measurement.
