The Role:
This role is part of our Saab Seaeye Business Unit.
In this role, you will gain in-depth knowledge of our product range and have the opportunity to manufacture a variety of ROV assemblies from component level to final testing and sign-off. You will also learn about real-world performance and use fault-finding methods to perform root cause analysis on returned products requiring servicing or refurbishment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Responsible and accountable for the manufacture and repair of electro-mechanical assemblies.
2. Read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics to assist with building and fault finding.
3. Ensure soldering and electrical loomings are performed to high standards.
4. Assist with pressure and soak testing of Saab Seaeye components when required, in a timely manner.
5. Maintain proficiency in relevant IT and other systems required for the role.
6. Experience working on complex medium to large electro-mechanical and hydraulic assemblies at the component level.
7. Familiarity with 6S principles and lean working initiatives.
8. Maintain professional and supportive relationships with team members and other departments to meet objectives and deadlines.
9. Act ethically, with integrity, and in the best interest of the business.
10. Manage time effectively to minimize waste and maximize productivity.
11. Use personal judgment and initiative to develop effective solutions to challenges.
12. Perform any other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.
Required Skills:
1. Ability to interpret electro-mechanical and hydraulic schematics.
2. Proven knowledge and experience in mechanical engineering practices.
3. Understanding of electronic manufacturing practices, such as IPC or equivalent.
4. Ability to diagnose electrical and electronic faults to PCB board level using proven fault-finding methods.
Desirable Skills:
1. Component-level diagnostics experience.
2. Formal qualification in mechanical/electrical engineering (e.g., NVQ level 3 or equivalent).
3. Experience with electronic testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, megohmmeters, or multimeters.
