Part-time (21 hours per week) Open-ended (permanent) The Opportunity Edinburgh College of Art is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and pro-active individual for the permanent part-time post of Teaching Fellow in Graphic Design, who will be able to deliver high-quality teaching provision. The post-holder will contribute to the programme vision for delivering innovative teaching. The post requires extensive experience of the skills necessary to perform within the graphic design environment. Applicants should demonstrate a significant track record of achievement in design theory and practical studio teaching. This post will place a focus across UG and PG teaching provision. The post holder would also be expected to be able to undertake PGR supervision where appropriate. We are looking for a Teaching Fellow in Graphic Design, with applied graphic design practice to support delivery of the BA & MA Graphic Design programmes across a range of courses in Graphic Design and ECA. Skills and Attributes for Success Master’s degree (PG) and/or Undergraduate degree in combination with extensive industry experience in Graphic Design or a related subject. Demonstrable industry lead expertise will also be considered. Experience of teaching and educational administration in higher/further education. A historical, theoretical and contextual understanding of the discipline. Professional graphic design industry experience, or experience as a practitioner. Confident, clear communicator with obvious passion for teaching graphic design. Ability to motivate students. Ability to work successfully as part of a team. Ability to organise, prioritise and manage time effectively. Empathetic and student-focused approach to teaching.
