ROLE OVERVIEW
ES Group is a multi-brand group operating across industrial recruitment (ES Recruit), complex steel fabrication (ES Steel), and specialist personnel (ES Site Services). This is a hands-on execution role at the heart of the Group's marketing function - responsible for bringing strategy to life across all three brands with pace, creativity, and commercial awareness.
Reporting directly to the Marketing Director, the Senior Marketing Executive owns day-to-day delivery across the marketing plan, reporting, content, automation, digital channels, and agency liaison. Strategy is set by the Marketing Director; this role executes it to a high standard without the need for constant input.
The ES Group environment is fast-paced and sales-led. Priorities can shift quickly, and the right person will thrive on variety, spin multiple plates calmly, and approach every challenge with a problem-solving mindset. The office culture is family-oriented, informal, and fun.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Stakeholder Engagement
• Attend weekly meetings with each subsidiary team (ES Recruit, ES Steel, ES Site Services) to understand commercial priorities, pipeline, and target markets.
• Use those conversations to proactively shape and adapt marketing activity, bringing creative input on how to drive growth in each brand.
• Build strong working relationships with subsidiary MDs and their teams, earning credibility through reliability and commercial awareness.
Marketing Automation and CRM Communications
This is a core competency for the role
• Plan, build, and manage automated sales and marketing customer journeys using Bullhorn Automation or equivalent marketing automation software.
• Design and produce email communications and messaging sequences that are well-crafted, on-brand, and commercially effective.
• Manage audience segmentation and data within the CRM and/or email platform, ensuring lists are accurate, relevant, and compliant.
• Support ES Recruit's four audience streams - win, grow, keep, and serve - with targeted automated communications across both candidate and client-facing journeys.
• Monitor automation performance, identify drop-off points, and continually improve sequence logic and content based on results.
Marketing Planning and Brief Management
• Work alongside the Marketing Director to build, maintain, and manage the Group's marketing plan across all three brands.
• Use the Group's internal marketing brief form for every piece of work, completing it in consultation with the stakeholder before creative output begins.
• Ensure all drafts conform to brief, include all required details, and are spell-checked and peer-reviewed before being submitted for management sign-off.
• Prioritise workload according to business need whilst progressing the agreed schedule of work.
Reporting and Analytics
• Produce and distribute a weekly marketing output report summarising activity across all three brands.
• Compile daily and weekly social media performance snapshots, building into a structured monthly social media report.
• Contribute the marketing section to the Group's monthly board report, ensuring data is accurate and commercially contextualised.
• Monitor website and campaign performance via Google Analytics, translating data into actionable insight.
Creative, Design, and Video
• Create, adapt, and maintain branded visual content using Canva and Adobe Creative Suite - including social media graphics, brochures, presentations, and marketing collateral.
• Produce short-form video and reel content for B2B social media, particularly for ES Steel and ES Recruit.
• Use AI tools to accelerate creative output where appropriate, whilst retaining creative judgement and brand integrity.
Social Media and Digital Channel Management
• Manage the Group's social media presence across relevant platforms, including content scheduling via Loomly, community engagement, and response to reviews and feedback.
• Plan and execute paid social campaigns across Meta, Google, and TikTok - from creative setup through to performance reporting.
• Manage and update content across the Group's websites, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and basic SEO compliance.
Website Project and Digital Infrastructure
• Be an active participant in the Group's new website rollout, delivered in partnership with Sourceflow, with a target completion date of September 2026.
• Manage and maintain website content through the Sourceflow CMS, ensuring all brand pages are accurate, current, and commercially relevant.
• Liaise with Sourceflow on ongoing improvements, integrations, and technical developments post-launch.
• Monitor website performance, identify content gaps, and recommend improvements to user experience and conversion.
Agency, Supplier, and Events Management
• Act as day-to-day point of contact for designated marketing agencies and suppliers, managing briefs, timelines, and delivery against agreed outputs.
• Source and manage branded promotional merchandise for use across the Group's brands and events.
• Coordinate internal and external events - managing logistics, photography, promotional materials, and on-the-day requirements.
• Create and maintain sales support presentations for each subsidiary, ensuring content is current and visually consistent.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
• Minimum 3-4 years of B2B marketing experience, ideally within recruitment, industrial, or a similarly complex multi-audience environment.
• Demonstrable experience planning and delivering automated marketing and sales communication journeys (Bullhorn Automation, Force24, HubSpot, Mailchimp, or equivalent).
• Strong hands-on capability in email design, audience management, and CRM data segmentation.
• Confident and creative user of Canva; working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, or Illustrator).
• Experience creating short-form video and reel content for B2B social media channels.
• Hands-on experience with paid social campaign management across Meta, Google, and/or TikTok.
• Familiarity with social scheduling tools (Loomly or similar).
• Working knowledge of Bullhorn CRM, or a comparable recruitment CRM platform.
• Comfortable with CMS platforms for content management and site updates; experience with Sourceflow or WordPress preferred.
• Confident using Google Analytics to monitor performance and produce clear, usable reports.
• Strong written communication skills with a genuine feel for the written word and creative expression.
• Experienced Mac user; comfortable with Google Drive for day-to-day file management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
• A disciplined approach to brief intake, output quality, and process compliance.
Desirable
• Familiarity with Broadbean and/or Kyloe within a recruitment marketing context.
• Experience sourcing and managing branded promotional goods.
• Experience organising and managing internal and external events end-to-end.
• Experience working within a group or multi-brand structure.
• Familiarity with project management tools such as Smartsheet or Monday.com.
• Degree-level education or a recognised marketing qualification (CIM or equivalent).
• Experience contributing to board-level marketing reporting.
• ACIM, MCIM or Chartered Marketer desirable
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
Technical skills matter, but so does the person behind them. We are looking for someone who:
• Has a genuinely positive, glass-half-full outlook - a solution finder with a can-do attitude.
• Is proactive and commercially curious - identifies what needs doing and gets on with it.
• Takes pride in the quality of their output and holds themselves to a high standard without being prompted.
• Can manage competing demands with calm and good humour, keeping multiple workstreams moving simultaneously.
• Communicates confidently with senior stakeholders - straightforward, credible, and professional.
• Brings genuine creative instinct to their work - original thinking that goes beyond what an AI tool would default to.
• Understands that the written word matters as much as attention to detail.
• Fits naturally into a fast-paced, informal, team-oriented office environment.
