SALES ACCOUNT MANAGER DEFENCE, REMOTE, £60-80K BASIC PLUS BONUS AND GREAT BENEFITS. Major International Company offering opportunities to progress. Great role for ex Navy and Defence Candidates.


The Company

With facilities in over thirty locations spanning five continents, our client employs more than 2500 people, including 300 apprentices. They are a global leader in valves, emissions management and turbine solutions.

The Sales Account Manager - Naval Defence will lead strategic growth across the UK and European naval market. This role is preferably home-based, reflecting close alignment with key naval, MOD, and defence industry stakeholders in England.


Responsibilities

* Develop and manage strategic relationships with the UK Ministry of Defence, Royal Navy, European navies, NATO-aligned organisations, prime contractors, and shipyards.
* Identify, shape, and secure new naval and maritime defence opportunities across fleet sustainment, refit, upgrade, and operational support programmes.
* Act as the primary customer interface, translating naval operational requirements into commercial and engineered solutions.
* Support bids, tenders, and proposals, working closely with engineering, operations, and commercial teams.
* Represent company at naval, defence, and maritime exhibitions and industry events across the UK and Europe.
* Maintain a robust and transparent sales pipeline, providing accurate forecasting and reporting.


Qualifications & Experience

* Engineering HNC/HND or equivalent technical qualification
* Sufficient experience in naval, maritime or defence business development or commercial roles
* Prior service in the Royal Navy or a European naval force preferred
* Proven experience engaging with UK MOD / DE&S, European defence organisations, shipyards, or defence primes preferred
* A track record of winning and developing complex, long‑cycle defence opportunities.
* Bid and tender management experience desirable (APMP advantageous)
* Eligible for UK Security Clearance
* The ability to work autonomously from a home‑based role
