Role Overview We are recruiting an experienced geospatial professional to join our Operations Development Function (PMO) as a Technical Development Manager. In this key cross‑departmental role, you will lead the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our geospatial technical standards, methodologies, and capabilities. Working closely with survey teams and technical specialists, you will drive technical excellence, support innovation, and accelerate the adoption of cutting‑edge geospatial technologies across the business. This role offers the chance to influence how we deliver geospatial solutions and to play a central part in enhancing operational performance across the organisation. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the survey department technical team members to source, develop, test and implement improved geospatial technologies and workflows effectively into the business Chair and coordinate various technical committees tasked with implementing improved technical solutions in strategic areas of the business. Effectively project manage and deliver technical development projects Align best practise technical standards across the business Work closely with the companies Geospatial Consultants to understand client requirements and pain points to ensure technical development projects align. Keep abreast of new geospatial technological and industry advancements to ensure the company continues to lead the way. Identify capability gaps and work with key stakeholders to set out the steps required to improve. Provide technical support and consultancy on external client projects. Accelerate the implementation and adoption of new advanced technologies (AI/ML etc) Support the technical training, upskilling and mentoring of employees Collaborate with the Operations team on their projects to drive a continuous improvement culture Role Requirements Proven experience and expertise working with a variety of geospatial technology and techniques (field and office), delivering complex projects with advanced solutions. Example areas of expertise could include Lidar & Point Cloud, Photogrammetry, UAV, Mobile Mapping, BIM, GIS, Digital Twin, IOT, Subsurface, Geospatial Data Analysis & Analytics, AI/ML, High Precision Control Networks etc. Experience in implementing new innovative/improved geospatial tech solutions Strong project management / organisational skills Full rights to work in the UK Strong stakeholder management / communication skills Programming knowledge/experience (desirable) Personal Attributes Technically competent and naturally curious.
