Location: Runcorn, Cheshire • Full-time/Permanent position • End date to Apply: 22nd September
Responsibilities
* Lead the HACCP team and maintain the site HACCP plan.
* Deliver the internal hygiene and housekeeping audit schedule.
* Investigate food safety consumer complaints and drive corrective actions.
* Implement a strategic plan for continuous improvement in food safety, including hygiene and audit programmes.
* Maintain and develop the Food Safety Management System, ensuring regulatory, internal, and external accreditation requirements are fully met.
* Produce accurate and timely food safety and audit reports.
* Support with validations and verifications of plant and process.
* Actively promote compliance with company systems, processes and procedures as part of day-to-day site operations.
* Implementation of a strategic plan to drive continuous improvement in food safety, including completion of food safety and hygiene audits.
* Maintain the food safety management system that delivers regulatory compliance and ensures that requirements of internal and external accreditation are fully met.
* Completion of food safety and audit reports to schedule.
What You’ll Bring
* A qualification in a science subject (e.g., GCE “A” Level or equivalent) plus relevant experience in a food-related business in Quality Assurance
* Hands-on experience of HACCP and food safety management systems.
* Exposure to laboratory work (ideally microbiological).
* Knowledge of relevant management systems: ISO 9001:2015, FSSC22000 / BRC, and statutory requirements affecting the food industry.
* Experience in standard development and auditing.
* Strong influencing skills – able to challenge peers and senior managers constructively and objectively.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment.
