We are looking for a dynamic Practice manager to lead the operational and strategic running of our practice, supporting our clinical and multi‑disciplinary team to deliver outstanding patient care.

The position is full time (37 hours / week) and a permanent post (a 6 monthly probation period will require to be undertaken). The role will be based at Ochilview Practice, Park Drive, Stenhousemuir, FK5 3BB.
About the Role
As Practice Manager, you will be the operational and strategic backbone of our surgery by leading all non‑clinical functions of our practice. Working closely with the GP partners and an increasingly diverse multi‑disciplinary team (including staff employed both by the practice and by NHS Forth Valley / HSCP). You will be central to the smooth and effective running of the practice and to its long‑term development.
The role requires someone who is organised, has great communication skills (both with staff and patients) and can facilitate / develop all the administrative systems within the practice.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead day‑to‑day practice operations including administrative, HR, payroll, premises and IT
* Manage General Medical Services contractual requirements, income streams, accountancy liaison and financial reporting
* Line manage and develop reception and administrative staff
* Support staff wellbeing and foster a positive, inclusive team culture
* Maintain and develop practice IT systems, clinical software (EMIS / Vision), telephony, data backup and information governance
* Oversee compliance with NHS Scotland Health & Safety, infection prevention and business continuity standards
* Drive quality improvement and support strategic planning with the GP partners
* Act as the primary liaison for NHS Forth Valley Health Board, HSCP, GP Cluster and other external stakeholders
* Champion a positive patient experience and lead on complaints management
* Manage locum arrangements including PVG, GMC checks and records
Essential Requirements
* Previous experience in NHS practice environment and knowledge of general practice
* Experience managing, developing and appraising teams
* Excellent organisational and problem‑solving ability
* Familiarity with GP clinical systems (EMIS, Vision or equivalent)
* Knowledge of data protection, information governance and NHS Scotland compliance requirements
* Understanding of HR processes including recruitment, absence management and employment law
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Experience working within NHS Scotland / NHS Forth Valley
* Familiarity with SPPA pension administration
* Experience working with a multi‑disciplinary primary care team
